Live from Chapel Hill - Day One

October 23, 2007 by Josh Harvey

Alright, alright... this is Josh again and now I'm in Tarheel Country.  I flew into Raleigh today, so I am now writing you from the campus of the University of North Carolina (UNC) in Chapel Hill.  What a goregous campus!

It's a little eerie how much Frankiln Street (the main campus drag) feels like Chimes Street (LSU) in Baton Rouge and Guadalupe Street in Austin (UT).  At first glance, it would appear that Storyville would fit in nicely at UNC -- particulary in the 100 block of East Franklin.

Anyway, I'm here in North Carolina until Thursday evening.  I am going to try to meet with some property owners or managers so that we can begin our mission to bring Storyville to Chapel Hill sometime in 2008.

I'm also going to meet with some locals, like UNC student Curtis Davis, to see what they think about bringing Storyville to Chapel Hill.  Remember -- we're always looking for local artists, designers, models, photographers, activists, etc. to get involved with Storyville and wearyourstory.com .  So if you're a UNC student who would like to help us, give me a call on my cell at 225.772.4962 or e-mail me at [email protected] and we can meet up while I'm in town.  Anyway, wish me luck tomorrow on Day 2 of my scouting mission.  I'll keep you posted on my progress!
