Preparing for Gustav... also Gameday at LSU & UT, Batfest

August 30, 2008 by Josh Harvey

Saturday is full of anxiety, excitement and bats.  Lots of fun stuff to do, with Hurricane Gustav on the horizon, it's hard to think of much else.

First, the fun stuff.  On Saturday in Baton Rouge , LSU kicks off its football season against Appalachian State.  On Saturday evening in Austin , UT gets its season started against Florida Atlantic .  In the meanwhile, Storyville will be attending Main Street Market in downtown Baton Rouge and Batfest in South Austin. Batfest is Austin's annual celebration of the largest urban bat colony in the world .  It's also a fund raiser for , which is located in Austin.

And now back to the scary stuff.  All eyes are on Gustav, which is rapidly making its way to the Gulf Coast.  Gustav is currently scheduled to make landfall late Monday or early Tuesday .  Let's all keep our fingers crossed and hope that Gustav loses momentum before then.  The last thing that New Orleans and the Gulf Coast need right now is another hurricane.
